Plastic Recycling Process

Step-by-Step: The Plastic Recycling Journey

Our dedicated team of workers is at the heart of our operation, carefully handling your discarded plastics to turn them into valuable resources. Here’s a look at the process:

Description

1. Collection & Delivery

Collection Drivers & Logistics Team

We collect plastic waste from homes and businesses and transport it to our facility, ensuring efficient and safe delivery for processing.

2. Sorting & Segregation

Sorters & Quality Control Staff

This is a crucial step! Workers manually and mechanically sort the incoming plastics by type (e.g., PET, HDPE, PP) and color. They remove contaminants like non-plastic items, labels, and residual debris to ensure a pure product.

3. Washing & Cleaning

Machine Operators & Prep Team

The sorted plastic is washed in large industrial baths to remove any remaining dirt, food residue, and adhesives. Our workers monitor the machinery to ensure a thorough, contaminant-free clean.

4. Shredding & Grinding

Shredder Operators & Maintenance Technicians

Clean plastic items are fed into powerful shredders and grinders, which break them down into smaller, uniform pieces called “flakes” or “pellets.”

5. Melting & Extrusion

Extrusion Specialists & Production Staff

The flakes are melted down at high temperatures and pushed through an extruder—a machine that forms them into long strands. Our specialists monitor temperature and pressure for a consistent, high-quality material.

6. Pelletizing & Packaging

Pelletizers & Packaging Team

The melted strands are cooled and then cut into tiny, uniform recycled plastic pellets (also known as “nurdles”). These pellets are the new raw material, ready to be packaged by our team and shipped out to manufacturers for reuse.
